It depends on the surface. High-wear surfaces like doors, trim and cabinets get a durable oil-based or urethane-modified enamel. Interior walls and ceilings get a premium water-based paint that dries faster and has very low odour. We primarily use Sherwin-Williams products, chosen specifically for each project.
Yes, especially on exteriors, cabinets, doors, trim and furniture. Oil-based paints cure harder and level to a smoother finish, so they resist damage better. Latex (water-based) paints dry faster, clean up with water and stay flexible, which means shorter turnaround times for you.
We offer zero- and low-VOC, non-toxic paint lines for homes with kids, pets or allergy concerns. We reuse leftover paint for moldings and trim wherever possible and dispose of everything else properly.
Not technically. Those products are thicker paints that build more coverage per coat. On bare drywall, stained surfaces or big colour changes, we still use a dedicated primer, because that’s what makes the finish last.
The common sheens are flat/matte, eggshell, satin and semi-gloss. As a rule, matte suits ceilings and low-traffic rooms, eggshell or satin suits living areas and bedrooms, and semi-gloss suits kitchens, bathrooms and trim. We’ll recommend the right sheen for every surface during your consultation.

Going dark over light, two coats are included. Going light over dark, we include as many coats as it takes (up to six) to reach true colour. You’ll never be charged extra for coverage we should have planned for.

You don’t need to do much. Our crew moves and covers furniture, masks fixtures and floors, and handles all surface prep. If there are valuables or fragile items you’d rather move yourself, just set them aside.
We keep it to a minimum. We schedule around your routine, contain dust, keep walkways clear and clean up at the end of every day.
Usually not on a sound, previously painted wall, but we always clean and degloss surfaces first so the new coat bonds properly. Patched areas, stains and glossy surfaces get spot-primed.
We follow lead-safe work practices, including containment, careful surface prep and proper cleanup and disposal, so older homes can be repainted safely.
A professionally prepared and painted interior typically lasts around 10 years. To keep it looking new, we recommend touch-ups every 3 to 5 years, and sooner in high-traffic areas.
